D.O.B.: June 24, 1989
GENDER & PRONOUNS: Female, she/her
WAND: 9”, Willow, Wolf Fang
PATRONUS: Never been attempted, but would be herself in her Garou form.
HAIR: Vibrant red with natural strawberry highlights. Maeve wears her hair long, never shorter than shoulder length and generally only pulls it back when she's working out or on a job.
EYES: Emerald green
WEIGHT: 135 lbs. Maeve is built like a gymnast: petite but muscled and strong.
MARKINGS: Maeve has a light dusting of freckles across her nose and cheeks. Her most prominent marks are the collection of scars across her body that she has gathered from various fights and incidents. A perfect set of four claw marks blemishes the fair skin across her back, which she received from her Garou father. She is also missing just a bit of the top of her right ear, and has an imprint of a bite-mark on her left bicep, both also from the fight with her father. More recently she has received an ugly set of scarring from being tortured with silver during her captivity at the hands of slavers. Ugly burns encase her neck, both wrists, and both ankles, clearly the result of a collar and manacles made of silver (for anyone familiar with the effect of silver on a Garou). She does not cover these burns but displays them as proudly as the rest of her scars, viewing them as a badge of strength of the things she has endured.
PLAY-BY: Emma Stone
MIRROR OF ERISED: Seeing her Pack flourish, with her best friend as Alpha.
BOGGART: Being caged or trapped against her will.
TRAITS: What Maeve lacks in physical stature, she more than makes up for in personality. A confident (sometimes bordering on downright cocky) and feisty little redhead, Mae is the kind of girl who could both kick your ass and teach you the finer points of etiquette. Her mother was rather strict, insisting that one should always be polite and exhibit discipline, and that is something that Mae still holds to. She never hesitates to voice her opinion or assert her authority if need be, but is generally quiet around people she doesn’t know well, preferring to observe first before engaging. Mae is by no means shy, just cautious, preferring to have a good judgment of character about people before starting any kind of relationship with them. For the most part, Maeve is a friendly and cheerful person, but be warned: her temper is vicious. The rage that she has to contend with (especially as a Black Spiral) has gotten easier for her to control as she has gotten older and successfully danced the spiral, but push the wrong buttons and you better hope you can outrun her. Although she is usually considered to be a ‘nice person’, Mae is just as cruel and cunning as the Black Spirals generally are. She is an absolutely deadly fighter and her hunting and tracking skills are matched only by her best friend, Soren. Her pack is her family and gods forbid you threaten her family…
Since being held captive by slavers and being poisoned with silver, Maeve has suffered from extreme memory loss and amnesia. Her personality is much the same as it always has been, although she is highly sensitive to the fact that she can't remember the vast majority of her life and will react poorly should it be brought up.

HISTORY: When Maeve Aislinn McLeod was born, a little beauty with a shock of red hair and bright green eyes, her mother never suspected that she had given birth to a ‘monster’. Maeve was born in Boston, Massachusetts, under a full moon to single mother Kelly Murdoch. Her mother was only twenty-two at the time and had only just graduated from college, a muggle forest ranger. When Kelly spent her senior year doing an internship abroad at Caringorm’s National Park in Scotland, she met Maeve’s father, Fabian McLeod, a Garou of the Wild Cards pack. Of course, he kept his Garou blood secret from her, so when Kelly returned home to find she was pregnant with no way to contact the Scotsman, she shrugged it off as unfortunate and resigned herself to raising a child alone. However, in respect for the father she would never get to meet, Maeve’s mother gave her Fabian’s last name when she was born.
It was apparent that Maeve had inherited more than a name from her long-lost father though. While her mother was a calm, mostly docile woman, even as a child Maeve had a wicked temper with a short fuse. When she was young, the feisty redhead routinely ended up in playground fights for everything from using the swings to going first on the slide. Despite the loving home her mother gave her and the friends she made with the neighborhood kids, Maeve always felt like she was different for some reason, a quirk that her practical mother never tolerated, telling her that she was no different than any of the other kids.
By the time she turned eleven and had been accepted to the Salem Institute of Witchcraft and Wizardry (much to her mother’s shock), Maeve had learned to control her temper and was a sweet-natured, if a bit assertive, young girl. She loved to learn and excelled at her new studies, distinguishing herself in both Transfiguration and Astronomy. In spite of the assurances to the contrary by her mother, Maeve’s feeling of not belonging had only intensified as she had gotten older, and by the time she was finished with her fifth year, she was known as quite the loner. She had acquaintances of course, but no one that she was comfortable enough to call a friend. Little did she know that her feelings of belonging elsewhere would soon be validated.
Two weeks into summer vacation between her fifth and sixth year, Maeve and her mother were going through the attic of their house, looking at old photos and memories, when they came upon an old suitcase. Searching through the old thing, Maeve’s mother found a love letter that Fabian had hidden in her bag before she had left Scotland, but hadn’t been found until then. Maeve was thrilled by the find and urged her mother to reach out to the man who was her biological father, which her mother did. Kelly and Fabian spoke on the phone almost every day for the next two weeks, and began planning for him to come to Boston to meet Maeve, whom he was thrilled to find out about. Even the best laid plans can be ruined in an instant, as they say, and theirs was no exception. On the night of that July full moon, Maeve’s mother was horrified to find her 15 year old daughter curled up on her bedroom floor, her limbs stretching then breaking then reforming, changing into a werewolf. Alone and in a panic, Kelly locked and barricaded her daughter’s room and called Fabian, not knowing what else to do. Fabian hopped on the next flight and arrived the next morning, explaining everything.
Fabian explained that Maeve was by no means a monster, but a mighty Garou – a born werewolf. He reassured the frightened girl and her mother that there was nothing wrong with Maeve and that being a Garou, especially a Black Spiral like she was, was a great honor. Her father also apologized for not telling her mother about his Garou blood, and to Mae for not being a father to her. In light of the situation, both Mae and her mother forgave him; after all, Fabian hadn’t even known he had a daughter. Mae and her father had spent the rest of the day getting to know each other and talking more about the Garou.
Maeve was ecstatic to discover her father was both alive and hadn’t just not wanted her, and loved Fabian from that first day. Unfortunately, her love and admiration was very misguided. While Fabian was playing the part of loving father and long-lost lover most convincingly, he would reveal his true colors soon enough. In truth, Fabian was furious that Kelly had never bothered to tell him he had a child, and embarrassed that his 15 year old daughter had only just changed for the first time and knew nothing of Garou culture. She would have to be trained and taught vigorously if she was going to survive in the pack, but to do that he would have to get her away from her mother and back to the pack first.
A week after Maeve’s first change and his arrival (the night of her 16th birthday), Fabian woke his daughter in the middle of the night, urging her to be quiet and pack quickly. Her mother, he told her, was planning to turn her over to the Ministry of Magic in the morning and they would kill her for being a dangerous monster! Not knowing any better (being rather new to this after all), Mae did as Fabian asked and quickly packed her clothes and important belongings. Not wanting to leave without saying goodbye (even if her mother did hate her now…) Maeve wrote a not to her mother telling her that she loved her and that she had to go be with her own kind. Sneaking down the hall to her mother’s room while Fabian was downstairs, Maeve opened the bedroom door to leave the note on her mother’s dresser and was met with a scene of total carnage. Her mother lay in bed with her throat ripped out and drenched in her own blood, an expression of betrayal and terror on her lifeless face. Before Maeve could even scream, Fabian came up behind her and slammed her into the wall, his eyes red and fangs bared. His face close enough to her face that she could smell her mother’s blood on his breath, Fabian threatened that if she ever breathed a word of what she had seen, she would end up just as dead. Scared out of her wits and in anguish over the loss of her mother, Maeve had no choice but to promise to keep quiet and go with him. After all, where else did she have to go now? But she vowed he would pay someday.
Terrified but determined to succeed, Maeve was presented to the Pack and allowed to stay. Sensing her nervousness and seeing Mae’s potential, the Alpha’s mate Annalisa took the young Garou under her wing and helped guide her through the first grueling year with the Pack. Despite being a rather late-bloomer, Maeve took to life as a Black Spiral like a fish to water, learning quickly and proving herself a worthy pack member. She grew into a strong and powerful example of a Garou, biding her time until a chance arose to avenge her mother.
That opportunity presented itself on her 18th birthday, which also happened to fall on the full moon. Maeve had prepared for weeks to challenge her father, telling only her best friend Soren her whole plan. Before she laid down the challenge, Maeve planned to write a letter for Soren to give to his father in the event she lost the challenge, explaining how her father had murdered her mother and coerced her into leaving with him. At least if she died trying, Fabian would still get what was coming to him. She laid the challenge out on the full moon and, by some miracle of luck, won, ending her father’s life and finally avenging her mother’s murder. As her father had been the pack Beta and Maeve had defeated him in direct challenge, Mae became the new Pack Beta. Just a few weeks after winning the challenge against her father, it was time for Maeve to ‘dance the spiral’ and become a full-fledged Black Spiral. The trial was laid out: show prowess in the hunt, show loyalty to the Pack, and kill an innocent. Maeve completed the tasks with ease, gaining her tribal totems (the Lion of the White Howlers and the Whippoorwill of the Black Spirals) and gaining more control over her rage.
Over the next few years, Maeve’s life consisted mostly of pack business such as defending pack territory and settling squabbles, until news reached the pack of the Death Eaters’ takeover of Britain, that is. After much debate, the Alpha decided that the pack needed more information on these particular humans and gave Maeve and Soren the task of gathering that information. As far as Mae was concerned, the Death Eaters were much like her pack with the strong ruling with an iron fist and killing or enslaving the weak. After much learning and many discussions with Soren, both Betas decided to join the vicious group, deciding that there really was no better way to learn about the ruling pack than to join it. Maeve was employed in Lord Williams' office as his undersecretary until the unfortunate attempted kidnapping of his eldest daughter.
During the late summer of 2011, Katya Williams arrived at the Death Eater headquarters of Puxley Manor in the wee hours of the morning before a slave auction was scheduled to happen, hoping to search for a former friend who had been enslaved by the regime. Maeve was filling in for Lord Williams' assistant, Sienna Faber, and assisted the young Williams girl in searching for any records about her missing friend. Having seen the Lord's daughter arrive alone and expecting the girl to be alone and helpless in her father's office while the Manor was mostly empty, members of a secret slave operation infiltrated Maeve's offive in an attempt to capture Katya to be sold off in their enterprise, however Maeve defended the girl and took down the would-be slavers and preventing the kidnapping. Unfortunately for Maeve, the leader of the illegal slavery ring, former Head of the Department of Mysteries Lionel Blake, arrived on his lackeys' heels and overpowered the enraged Garou with magic, deciding to cash in on an unexpected opportunity and captured Maeve instead with the rationale that a Garou would fetch a much higher price than a mere human slave.
Unbeknownst to Maeve's pack or the Death Eaters, Blake had made an agreement with one of the local Bone Gnawer packs for the capture of the Wild Card Betas, Soren Shepard and Maeve Mcleod. In an effort to buy himself time to capture the other Garou Blake kept Maeve chained in silver manacles in the bowels of the Department of Mysteries, trying to break the stubborn and violent Garou before handing her over to her enemies. In a fit of anger at being unable to break Maeve's spirit Blake laced her food and water with powdered silver, poisoning her and nearly killing her. This incident, combined with the poisoning from extended contact with the silver manacles and collar, caused the erosion of Maeve's memories that she still suffers from currently. Before his arrest and subsequent execution, Lionel Blake handed a severely injured Maeve over to the Bone Gnawers, where the Wild Cards tracked her whereabouts but were too late to rescue her. With advance warning of the Wild Cards imminent arrival, the Gnawer Alpha took his prize and escaped with her, however Maeve used the last of her strength and Rage to escape her bindings and kill the rival Alpha, being more severely wounded and near-death at this point from the hellacious torture and vicious fight with the Gnawer Alpha.
She lost consciousness and when she awoke, her injuries were being treated by agents of the Syndicate resistance group who had found her on the streets. Not having any memories of who she was or her past, recent or otherwise, Maeve was taken in by Wilson King and his court, her injuries healed and her amnesia treated as best as could be. She currently works for King as one of his enforcers, and acts as both partner and bodyguard for his right hand protege, Tristan Viridian.
